One is coconut oil. It supports the process to burn belly fat, which speeds up the weight loss process, Daily Express reported.

Abdominal fat is the type of fat present around your organs and gives you the "beer belly." But it does not only indicate one's extra size since having such fat could also help determine the risk of having serious health problems, such as heart disease and diabetes.

How Coconut Oil Helps in Weight Loss

Coconut oil is known as one of the most friendly fats. Up to 90 percent of its fatty acids are saturated, which promote better metabolism and help the oil remain stable even when cooking at high temperatures.

You only need a small amount of coconut oil to enjoy its health benefits. Researchers previously found that adding 2 tablespoons of the oil could help lead to healthy weight loss.

Studies found that consumption of coconut oil could help reduce the "dangerous" fat in the abdominal cavity. The product provides high amounts of medium chain triglycerides, the fatty acids that could speed up metabolism.

Coconut oil can also improve appetite and increase feelings of fullness even after eating small portions. One study showed that using 30 grams of coconut oil in meals for four weeks helped men with obesity reduce their waist circumference by 2.86 cm.

Aside from weight loss, the health benefits of coconut oil can also help reduce the risk of heart disease. It helps increase levels of good (HDL) cholesterol in the body and reduces bad cholesterol.

Coconut oil also helps block infection. It contains lauric acid that gives the product its antifungal, antiviral and antibacterial properties.

"The saturated fats present in coconut oil have antimicrobial properties and help in dealing with various bacteria, fungi, and parasites that can cause indigestion," Dr. Joe Alton, survival medicine expert and co-author of "The Survival Medicine Handbook," told Medical Daily.
